Early Morning Single Car Rollover

Thursday, August 22, 2013   Highlands units were dispatched to a early morning rollover on North Main St. that required the occupant to be extricated. Units arrived quickly and were forced to extricate the occupant from the vehicle, then the patient was transported to the hospital by Lifeflight. Units on scene were Medic 17, Engine 17, Rescue 17, District 17 and Lifeflight 5. Note there are multiple pictures so click on them to see them all. 

     



 

Late night fire in unoccupied residence

Wednesday, August 21, 2013   Highlands units responded to a report of a fire in a residence that was being remodeled. Units arrived within 4 minutes of the call reporting heavy fire though the roof. Highlands attacked the fire from the inside along with assistance from surrounding departments. Units on scene were Engine 17, Tanker 17, Rescue, 17, Brush 17, Medic 17, Sheldon Engine 23, Sheldon Safety 13,  Channelview Engine 12, Channelview District 32, Crosby Tanker 81, Crosby Engine 85. Highlands does standby at Baytown VFW Fireworks

Sunday, July 7, 2013  On July 4th Brush 17, Rescue 17 and Engine 27 supported the Baytown VFW by standing by at their Fireworks Display.

     



 

7 Patients Transported from accident on Grace Ln

Sunday, July 7, 2013  Medic 17, Medic 117, Crosby Medic 61, Southlake Houston Medic 15 Transported 7 patients from a head on accident on Grace Lane. Crews were assisted by Engine 27 and District 27.

     



 

Tanker 17 responds to mulch fire in Sheldon

Sunday, June 30, 2013  Sunday June 30th Tanker 17 responded along with units from Sheldon, Westfield, and Crosby. Tanker 17 was on scene for almost 2 hours trying to extinguish the fire.

     



 

Tank fire at Lynchburg Landing

Tuesday, June 18, 2013   Tuesday afternoon Highlands Fire Department responded to a tank fire at the Lyncburg Landing. Engine 17, Tanker 17, Rescue 17, Engine 27, Tanker 27 and a Crosby Tanker were the initial responding units. Highlands requested Harris County Hazmat  but they were unable to respond due to being on another incident. Highlands then requested City of Baytown Hazmat. Units were able to apply a foam blanket to extinguish the fire. 

   


 

Highlands attends funeral for four fallen Houston Firefighters

Wednesday, June 5, 2013   A Highlands Fire Department Crew along with Rescue 17 attended the funeral of 4 fallen Houston Firefighters killed in a 5 alarm fire last week. Highlands give Bedias Volunteer Fire Department D-70 Suburban

Monday, May 13, 2013   Highlands Fire Department transferred District 70 vehicle to the Bedias Volunteer Fire Department. The vehicle is being replaced by a new vehicle and was no longer of use to the fire department. The vehicle was given to the fire department many years ago by Little York Fire Department.

   


 

Vehicle Strikes A Power Pole at Wade and Fig Orchard

Sunday, May 12, 2013   On Sunday a pickup struck a power pole at Fig Orchard and Wade Roads. The vehicle broke the power pole in the middle and then struck a culvert. Engine 27 and Medic 17 responded. 

     



 

Engine 27 Responds to a car fire on Canal and Holly

Sunday, May 12, 2013   Engine 27 responded to a truck on fire at the intersection of Canal and Holly. The crew was able to quickly extinguish the fire.
